When author and publisher Monisha, asked if I would put together a book of recipes derived from the food she remembers eating growing up in a large family (and cooked for the greater part of her adult life), I jumped at the idea. 

Food and stories being two of my favourite things, I was happy to dive into the details. The project was challenging and ultimately deeply satisfying because of the client's particular desire to have the cookbook illustrated by me. 

While the elements of the book design fell into place with ease, my learning came in the form of finding and refining a visual 'voice' to balance the beauty of the stories contained within.
